Tissue-Specific Ameliorative Effect of Resveratrol on Oxidative Stress Parameters and Blood Lipid Profile of Mice Exposed to Cadmium

Cadmium can cause oxidative damage in organisms through overproduction of free radicals and suppression the antioxidant defense system. Resveratrol is known as a nutraceutical with properties accepted to have protective effects toxicity heavy metals. In this study, we investigated if resveratrol could overwhelm toxic effect sub-acute cadmium exposure. Animals were divided following groups: 1) Control, 2) Vehicle control, 3) (Cd), 4) (Res), 5) Exposure both Cd Res (Cd+Res). Increased lipid peroxidation total sialic acids determined testis lung tissues mice exposed decreased paraoxonase (PON1) level GSH amount. Interestingly, also found an increased NO levels tissue + Res, but not tissue. Moreover, triglycerides, cholesterol, very low-density lipoproteins, lipoproteins well reduced high-density compared controls. Our results revealed that induces tissues, via peroxidation, disturbs profile. our findings indicate may act “ameliorative” factor against exposure only Thus, suggest ameliorative vary depending on dose, duration animals
